Robin was taken on to be a spokesperson for The Recovery Network – an online, social, networking and educational web platform for recovering addicts. A former alcoholic and drug addict his life was saved when this £50,000 a year cocaine habit addiction lost him his radio job, his relationship and landed him in debt. A stint in rehab and a year clean has seen him return stronger and ready for new challenges.
The first of these challenges was becoming director and joint owner with Rachel Watkyn of two ethical businesses, Tiny Box Company and Tiny Difference. The Tiny Box Company is the sole UK packaging company that only deals in eco-friendly packaging for boxes and bags. Rachel and Robin turned the company into profit just 6 months after they started trading!
Robin presented the Tiny Box Company to Dragons Den. Theo Paphitis and Peter Jones said that they invested in these two unique people because they could see their drive and ambition. “I can see it in your eyes”, said Peter on the show and ; “I am only investing if Robin stays a part of it…” as he and Theo gave more investment than they had asked for!
Previously on television Robin has presented the BBC's very first truly interactive youth show called 'Subzero' on BBC2, shown Sunday mornings. Due to an amazing first run, it was re-commissioned for a second series. He also presented on Living Channel's 'The Look' which was nominated for a Children's BAFTA. He has worked for Channel 4 where he was the street reporter for 'Buzz' and he was a reporter for Bravo TV's 'Bravado.' He has also worked for children's channel Nickelodeon.
He has regularly featured in the press: More magazine, Time Out, The Mail on Sunday and Penthouse magazine who devoted four pages to Robin (with his clothes on).
Robin is also a supporter of the Teenage Cancer Trust.
