Jim Davis is a broadcast journalist & presenter for BBC Radio 5live and BBC Radio London. He currently presents weekend overnights and is a regular host on drive, early breakfast and the Late Show. Jim also presents Magic Radio's Sunday afternoon show, and Friday evenings from 8pm. He is Magic Soul's weekend breakfast host & presents Magic at the Musicals weekend mid-mornings.
Prior to this, for almost 5 years, Jim presented BBC Radio Leicester’s hugely successful flagship breakfast show weekdays 6am-10am.
Jim Davis was also a mainline presenter at LBC. As well as hosting his regular topical phone-ins, Jim also hosted ‘Sex In The City’, offering advice on problematic relationships and sexual problems.
On TV Jim has presented the news for BBC East Midlands Today, reported for BBC Inside Out and has been a paper reviewer on Sky News. Jim can also be seen presenting all things financial on the Moneywise website. On a lighter note, Jim has also featured as a ‘talking-head’ on the hugely successful ‘…Go Horribly Wrong’ franchise on Channel 5.
Jim was ITV’s weekend prime time live continuity presenter for over 5 years. He presented podcasts for Visit London and The Harley Medical Group as well as developing his own series of self-help podcasts entitled ‘5 Steps to…’. He is also in regular demand for voice over work.
Jim has had the opportunity to interview many of the world’s most successful musicians, entertainers and politicians. Jim’s interview style is warm & conversational, but challenging. “I find it often gives me the chance to draw something different from the artist… Something they might not otherwise have told me.”
Jim’s other interests include property development. He has bought, renovated and sold several properties doing much of the work himself. He is a keen wakeboarder, which he explains as “kind of like snowboarding but on water”. So passionate about his hobby, Jim actually bought a speedboat so he could go more often!
Jim has grabbed every opportunity to travel that has come his way. “I want to experience as much of this planet as possible”. He has visited most of Europe, much of America and spent 6 months travelling round South Africa. “I was born in Johannesburg and feel a real connection to Africa. I intend to explore the continent much further.”
Jim lives with his partner Bruce and his beloved Yorkshire terrier Zoe in South London.
